A society where children have equal access to their rights and opportunities to reach their full potential.
Shines Children’s Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) fully registered in Uganda and the Netherlands. Our organization was formed to help vulnerable children and young people such as orphans, street children, young mothers, and teenagers in Masindi District.
In Uganda educating underprivileged children holds a key to the progress of a nation, but the education for such children cannot be realized without improving the welfare of the family – a child cannot go to school and study well when the family especially the immediate caregiver is not healthy and empowered; the family needs decent livelihood opportunities and source of income.
On realizing this, for better child’s education, Shines Children’s Foundation has adopted an intensive program approach focused on family health, livelihood, and community engagement in empowerment programs that addresses the needs of needy children and their families.
Our primary goal is to provide sustainable solutions which can enable orphans and other vulnerable children to access quality education, through mitigating the roadblocks and empowering the immediate caregivers in communities.
In every country, Children are the future of a nation, for a developing country like Uganda, where there are more than 2 million orphans and vulnerable children, there is a need to educate children and ensuring the welfare of their families. A child can go to school regularly only
When the family, particularly the mother is healthy and empowered; the family has decent livelihood opportunities and a steady income.
